Owners/Operators

The Children's Playroom has been successfully owned by Gini and Mark Langham for over 10 years. They have a daughter and two sons, all of which attend the Grassland area public schools. Gini and Mark successfully lobbied and got a bill passed through the State Legislature in 2005 to increase the hours from 10 to 20 that children are allowed to stay at licensed drop-in child care centers. The bill was overwhelmingly passed in both houses of the State Legislature, allowing parents more flexibility to use this type of licensed service.

They continue to help raise the standards in drop-in child care and are the first owners of a licensed drop-in child care center as required by the State of Tennessee. Also, Gini sits on the state board to develop rules and regulations for Drop-in Childcare Centers in the State of Tennessee.

Mark has had a successful 22-year career as an infection prevention specialist in the healthcare industry. He provides products and services used by hospitals for hand hygiene and hard-surface disinfection. These products are used at both Playroom facilities.

Staff

We have two center Directors on staff.

Monica Barnes has been employed with us for ten years. She is nuturing, caring and has gained the assurance and respect of many customers over the years. Monica is married with two daughters. Monica is Director at our Belle Meade location.

Dawn Santana has been with The Children's Playroom for nine years. She is very creative and nuturing. She is married and has three sons. Dawn is Director at our Brentwood location.

We have a caring staff and high standards of care for the 16 ladies and gentleman who make The Children's Playroom the best drop-in child care in Tennessee. Our employees include Moms, college students, and teachers who have a calling to work with children.
